How Bad Do You Want It?
When it comes to getting fit, building muscle or just losing a few pounds there are a LOT of people that say they want to do these things but they don’t.
Instead, they complain about being overweight or out of shape while all the time eating too much (and too much junk) sitting on the couch watching television for hours and never exercising.
Yet they seem miserable, right? So what’s the problem? Why don’t they do something about it? Well, because they don’t want to! I know, I know I just got finished saying they do.
What I mean is, deep down, they don’t really want to enough to change what they are currently doing! While they may seem miserable about their current condition, they aren’t miserable enough! Not enough to outweigh the fear of change. While fear can be a powerful motivator, it can also keep us from doing something positive that we want to do.
When the need for change, overtakes the fear of it, we take action, put in the work, and make those changes!
We do it when we have a burning desire for it.
When we find our reason WHY that makes us want to change more than we want to go along with our current habits.
It’s your reason why that spurs you to action and keeps you from quitting.
If your reason why isn’t big enough, you’ll stay on the couch, or at least go back to it after a few weeks. Find a big enough reason why and you’ll push through to success. Do you know your reason why?
- So how bad do you want it?
- How bad do you want to make the changes necessary to get the results you say you want?
- How bad do you want to lose the fat?
- How bad do you want to add the muscle?
- Do you REALLY want to do what it takes to be able to fit into that new dress by the time your reunion rolls around?
To quote from Zig Ziglar…
you don’t pay the price, you enjoy the benefits. Don’t think about making sacrifices when it comes to things like your favorite unhealthy foods. Think of the benefits of being fit and healthy such as how much better you feel every day, all the things you can do now you couldn’t do before, etc. It’s a much higher quality of life. What’s worse, a little bit of discipline now, or the pain of regret later?
Do you want more muscle bad enough that you’ll get yourself under that heavy squat bar at 9 pm, even though you’d rather collapse on the couch, drink a cold beer and watch tv?
Are you willing to get up at 5 AM, get outside and run those sprints before the sun is even up?
So how bad do you want it? Do you want it as bad as you want to breathe?
Take a few minutes and at least watch the first video! Watch it every day if you have to. Watch it when you can feel yourself starting to make excuses for not hitting your workout today.
